Built around the needs of cleaning professionals
The robotic platform has been developed from the very beginning based on experience gained in real cleaning operations.
The technology has been used in more than 40 customer locations. Practical field work has helped identify the key requirements for a duct cleaning robot, including vertical movement, complex ductwork, reliable performance on site and adaptability to different applications.
Development has focused particularly on ease of use, high-quality imaging, reliability, traction and stability, as well as a modular design.
Crawler Oy and Dry Ice Finland
Dry Ice Finland's own cleaning operations, where the same challenge appeared repeatedly: how to clean long, complex and vertical ducts in a controlled way, including areas that conventional cleaning equipment cannot reach.
The system was originally developed for Dry Ice Finland’s own use. Several years of development and experience from real customer sites resulted in the duct cleaning robot used today.
Dry Ice Finland continues to use the technology in its own duct cleaning projects in Finland. This provides continuous field experience from real customer environments and supports further product development.

From dry ice cleaning to a modular robotic platform
The system was originally developed for dry ice cleaning in demanding ductwork, but its applications have expanded considerably during development.
The duct cleaning robot is not intended to replace every conventional cleaning method. Instead, it complements existing equipment especially in applications where access, duct geometry or contamination make cleaning difficult with standard tools.
Long duct runs, vertical sections, multiple bends and hard-to-reach areas can make duct and pipe cleaning slow, labour-intensive or difficult to complete.
Further development continues with the aim of adding new features and solving additional practical challenges encountered in professional duct cleaning.

Dry Ice Finland is a member of the European Ventilation Hygiene Association (EVHA), which brings together ventilation hygiene and duct cleaning professionals from across Europe.
